Gold Moon brings sculptural light and golden reflections to interiors

Catellani & Smith introduces Gold Moon, a wall lighting piece that blurs the line between illumination and art, transforming light into a scenographic and atmospheric feature.

Designed as a luminous composition, Gold Moon creates a warm, enveloping glow through its signature golden reflections. The interplay of light and shadow animates the wall surface, producing delicate abstract patterns that add depth and visual intrigue to any space.

The piece is composed of six circular shades, three measuring 25 cm and three 30 cm, arranged on a copper structure with brass detailing. Each element is finished with gold-coloured leaf and features an irregular, handcrafted surface, allowing it to capture and diffuse light in constantly shifting ways. As a result, the appearance of the installation subtly changes depending on the viewing angle and light intensity.

At the core of each disc, small interchangeable LED sources are concealed within fine copper curls. These discreet light points enhance the reflective quality of the gold surfaces, amplifying the dynamic contrast between brightness and shadow.

While a single configuration already acts as a strong focal point, Gold Moon can be combined into larger compositions, creating more immersive and expressive installations suited to both residential and contract environments.

With its fusion of craftsmanship, materiality and light, Gold Moon positions itself as a decorative statement piece, where lighting becomes a narrative element shaping the identity of a space.
