Stockholm Furniture Fair will return in February 2027 with a redefined format, placing stronger emphasis on business opportunities, innovation and the future of Scandinavian design.
Following extensive consultation with industry stakeholders, organisers Stockholmsmässan have outlined a new strategic direction aimed at strengthening the fair's role as an international meeting place for the design industry.

The 2027 edition will centre around three key priorities. Firstly, the event will enhance its position as a business-driven platform, introducing new tools and formats to facilitate networking, partnerships and commercial opportunities. Secondly, a dedicated innovation area will spotlight advancements in materials, production methods, sustainability and cross-industry collaboration. Finally, the fair will reinforce its identity as a global reference point for Scandinavian design, showcasing its core values of quality, functionality and sustainability across all aspects of the event.
In parallel, Stockholm Design Week will run alongside the fair, offering a broader, more public-facing programme that celebrates Scandinavian design culture across the city.
Several structural changes have also been introduced. The fair will now take place biennially, allowing brands more time to develop new products and invest in innovation. Additionally, the event will be shortened to four days, with a stronger focus on professional audiences and business interactions.
The exhibition format itself will evolve, moving away from large, traditional stands towards more flexible, collaborative and creative presentations, encouraging shared spaces and greater accessibility for participants.
With these changes, Stockholm Furniture Fair aims to reinforce its role as a key international platform, bringing the industry together while supporting its long-term growth and development.
