Located in the historic Blackstone Building in the Xuhui District, the showroom blends heritage architecture with contemporary design. Baroque elements and aged stone interiors provide a striking backdrop for Moooi's curated environments, where lighting, furniture and textures are presented as immersive, lived-in spaces rather than standalone pieces.
Wanders described the move into China as both "natural and meaningful", highlighting the country's creativity and craftsmanship as a strong fit for the brand.
The opening also features a special installation by fashion designer Susan Fang, titled Digital Gardens, which merges technology and nature through innovative carpet designs, adding an experiential layer to the new showroom.
