European laminate flooring sales declined by 6.5 per cent in 2025, reaching 263.4 million m², as weaker construction activity and subdued renovation demand weighed on the sector. The figures, reported by the European Producers of Laminate Flooring (EPLF), mark a drop from 281.6 million m² in 2024.

Europe remained the dominant market, accounting for over 80 per cent of total sales. Western Europe saw a moderate decline of 5.62 per cent, with France showing relative stability, while Germany and Great Britain recorded sharper decreases. In contrast, Eastern Europe posted modest growth of 2.56 per cent, led by gains in Poland and Romania.
Outside Europe, declines were more pronounced. North America fell by 12.4 per cent, while Latin America, Asia and Africa recorded steeper contractions. Africa experienced the largest drop, including a significant decline in South Africa.
EPLF described 2025 as a "year of adjustment", noting that market conditions varied by region rather than following a uniform global trend.
Despite the downturn, manufacturers remain focused on innovation, sustainability and product quality, positioning laminate flooring as a competitive and durable option as markets stabilise.
