Danish design brand &Tradition has expanded the Thorvald outdoor collection, designed by Space Copenhagen, with the introduction of six new pieces that extend the range into a more complete outdoor living offering.
Originally launched in 2024, the Thorvald collection draws inspiration from the work of Danish neoclassical sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen, particularly the rhythmic lines and forms of the museum dedicated to his work.

New additions for outdoor living
The latest expansion includes two coffee tables, a dining table, two benches and a lounge sofa, all designed specifically for outdoor use.
The new pieces build on the collection's existing design language, characterised by sculptural silhouettes and repeating motifs, while enhancing its versatility for both dining and lounging settings.
The coffee tables are low-profile and available in two sizes, designed to pair with the existing lounge chair. The new lounge sofa extends this typology, offering additional seating for social outdoor environments.
Meanwhile, the benches are available in two versions—with and without a backrest—and the new dining table introduces a more compact format, accommodating up to six people while fitting into smaller outdoor spaces.

A cohesive design language
According to Signe Bindslev Henriksen of Space Copenhagen, the goal was to evolve the collection while maintaining its core identity.
"As we've continued to evolve the collection, we've remained dedicated to preserving Thorvald's distinctive motifs and details," she said. "Each new piece is designed to feel fresh and unique, while forming a natural extension of the Thorvald universe."
Expanding the outdoor concept
With these additions, &Tradition positions Thorvald as a comprehensive outdoor furniture collection, suitable for a wide range of environments, from private terraces to hospitality settings.
The expansion reflects a broader trend in design towards fully integrated outdoor living spaces, where furniture collections offer cohesive solutions across dining, relaxation and social use.
