A major Dutch e-commerce company, has filed for suspension of payments with the court. The request was submitted by fonQ, the parent company behind home and interior platforms fonQ and Naduvi, on 16 March 2026, with the court expected to rule on the matter in the near term.

Financial pressure despite turnaround efforts
According to the company, the move comes despite significant internal progress made since mid-2025 under a new leadership team. Efforts have focused on improving operational control, streamlining processes and initiating a broader turnaround strategy.
However, a recent internal analysis revealed that additional investments are required, particularly in infrastructure, systems and operational processes.
The acquisition of Naduvi in 2024 has also contributed to increased complexity across the organisation, especially in its technology landscape and operational structure. While integration efforts are ongoing, they have required more time and resources than anticipated.
Need for investment and longer path to profitability
The company stated that insufficient funding is currently available to support the next phase of its transformation. The combination of required investments and a longer timeline to achieve structural profitability has led to the decision to seek legal protection.
"We have taken important steps to strengthen the organisation and lay the foundation for sustainable growth," a spokesperson for fonQ Group said. "At the same time, we recognise that additional time and investment are needed to make the company structurally profitable."
Exploring future scenarios
During the suspension period, fonQ Group will work closely with an administrator to assess strategic options, including potential restructuring scenarios aimed at securing the future of the organisation and its brands.
fonQ Group operates in the home, interior and lifestyle e-commerce market, offering a broad assortment of products aimed at design-conscious consumers.
The outcome of the process will determine the future direction of one of the Netherlands' more prominent online home retailers.
