Danish furniture brand TAKT has introduced the Forma Chair, a new seating design by Copenhagen-based designers Lysemose & de Gier. The chair revisits the archetypal four-leg dining chair with a focus on structural clarity, material precision and durability for both residential and contract environments.
Designed around the essential elements of a chair, four legs, a seat and a backrest, Forma combines a solid oak frame, a moulded veneer seat and a gently curved backrest. The result is a minimal yet balanced design that emphasises comfort, simplicity and long-term usability.

Essential design with contract durability
Forma Chair is developed for high-traffic settings such as hospitality, workplaces and residential spaces. The design is naturally stackable and tested to meet both EU and US contract standards, supporting flexible use in dynamic environments.
According to designer Michael Lysemose, the project focused on balancing lightness with structural strength.
"We shaped the Forma Chair in the tension between lightness and solidity – a condensed expression where every line and detail serves a purpose," he said. "With a focus on minimal material use, we set out to create a chair that unites comfort, stackability and flexibility with a calm yet characterful presence."
Focus on responsible production
The chair is produced using FSC®-certified oak and is EU Ecolabel certified, reflecting TAKT's focus on responsible sourcing and lifecycle transparency. Developed according to the company's Eco System Design principles, Forma Chair aims to reduce environmental impact across production, durability and end-of-life stages.
An optional upholstered seat pad can be specified in a wide range of textiles and leathers, allowing architects and designers to adapt the chair for individual projects.
