During Milan Design Week 2026, Danish furniture maker Fredericia will present the exhibition "Fredericia: A Chronicle of Danish Design" at Triennale Milano, offering a comprehensive look at more than a century of Danish furniture design.
Running from 20–26 April 2026, the exhibition traces Fredericia's design legacy through a series of immersive environments that combine historic furniture, contemporary pieces and previously unseen archival materials.

A dialogue across generations
The exhibition brings together works by some of the most influential figures in Danish design. Historic pieces by Børge Mogensen, Hans J. Wegner and Nanna Ditzel are presented alongside contemporary designs by Jasper Morrison, Barber Osgerby and Cecilie Manz, highlighting how the core principles of Danish design continue to evolve.
Through this intergenerational dialogue, the exhibition illustrates the enduring relevance of human-centred design, craftsmanship and material integrity, values that have shaped the Danish design tradition for decades.
A steward of design heritage
Founded in 1911, Fredericia has played a significant role in the development of modern Danish furniture design. The company has long collaborated with leading designers and skilled craftsmen, building a design philosophy rooted in timeless form and functional clarity.
The exhibition positions Fredericia as a custodian of Danish design heritage, preserving its historical legacy while encouraging contemporary reinterpretations.
Visitors will encounter archival documents, rarely seen works and large-scale installations, offering new insight into the cultural and creative influences that have shaped the company over three generations.
"This exhibition is about culture as much as it is about furniture," said Rasmus Graversen, CEO and third-generation owner of Fredericia. "Revisiting our archives allowed us to tell not only my family's story, but also the story of the creative and cultural forces that have shaped Fredericia."
