The presentation forms part of Warli's broader exhibition concept, which explores the relationship between indoor, outdoor and contract environments through a material-focused design language. The stand is organised as a three-part narrative, guiding visitors through different living scenarios while highlighting the role of surfaces, textures and furnishings in shaping spatial identity.
Within this concept, the indoor section focuses on textile elements as key components of interior design. Rugs are presented not only as functional objects but also as visual elements that contribute to the atmosphere and character of a space.
A rug inspired by the idea of a threshold
The new Limen rug takes its name from the Latin word meaning limit, boundary or frontier, referencing the conceptual idea of a threshold, something that both separates and connects spaces.
This concept is translated into the rug's graphic design through the interaction of two colours, from which three distinct patterns emerge. The composition highlights the rhythm of the graphic motif and the tension between order and variation, creating a surface that appears minimal while maintaining visual depth.
Traditional craftsmanship
Limen is produced using the panja weaving technique, a traditional method carried out on a manual loom. The process uses a wide-toothed metal comb to compact the weft, allowing for precise control over the rug's texture and structure.
The use of handcrafted production reflects Warli's long-standing focus on combining traditional textile techniques with contemporary design research. The company works with artisans in regions known for their textile heritage, bringing together craftsmanship, material quality and modern aesthetics.
Made from fine wool, Limen is available in green, yellow and red colour variations.
Expanding Warli's design language
With Limen, Warli continues to explore the role of rugs as elements that help define architectural space. Beyond their functional purpose, the brand positions rugs as design tools capable of structuring interiors and shaping spatial atmosphere.
Founded in 1998 by designer Paolo Zani, Warli began as a rug-focused brand before expanding into furniture accessories, lighting and other interior elements. From its Milan-based design studio, the company develops collections that aim to combine craft tradition, sustainability and contemporary design culture.
The presentation of Limen at Salone del Mobile further reinforces Warli's ongoing effort to integrate textile surfaces, furnishings and lighting into a cohesive design approach.
