Pantone reveals 2027 home colour palettes focused on calm and joy

Pantone's 2027 home and interior colour forecast highlights a growing consumer desire for calm, comfort and emotional balance. The palettes were revealed by colour expert Leatrice (Lee) Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, during her keynote at The Inspired Home Show 2026.

The forecast centres on the concept of "Sense-Abilities," which encourages the use of colour and design to engage multiple senses and create meaningful experiences in the home. Eiseman explained that influences shaping future colour trends include fashion, film, technology, nature and culture, all reflecting people's need for spaces that provide relief from an increasingly hectic world.

A key reference point is Cloud Dancer, Pantone's 2026 Color of the Year. The soft, versatile white symbolises simplicity, clarity and peace, offering what Eiseman described as a "quiet whisper in a noisy world." White continues to remain a timeless choice in interior design due to its calming and adaptable qualities.

Pantone's View Home + Interiors 2027 forecast introduces seven palettes: Delight, Allure, Lucid, Hush, Honest, Grounded and Elation. Together they combine natural tones, nostalgic colours and bold contrasts, reflecting both emotional comfort and creative expression.

Overall, the palettes emphasise interiors that blend tranquility, nature-inspired hues and playful accents, helping homeowners create spaces that feel balanced, restorative and uplifting.
