Castlery wins three iF Design Awards for furniture collections

Singapore-founded furniture brand Castlery has received three iF Design Awards 2026, recognising the design of its Mori Sofa Collection, Lira Dining Chair and Hugg Coffee Table Collection. The awards mark a milestone for the brand, which launched in the UK last year and continues to expand its global presence.

Organised by the iF Design Foundation in Germany, the iF Design Award is considered one of the world's leading recognitions for design excellence. The annual competition evaluates projects across criteria including idea, form, functionality, differentiation and sustainability, with winners selected by an international jury.

Castlery's triple recognition highlights the company's focus on human-centred furniture design, combining aesthetic clarity with practical solutions for everyday living.

Japandi-inspired Mori Sofa Collection
One of the award-winning designs is the Mori Sofa Collection, a modular seating system inspired by the Japanese concept of the engawa, the transitional space between the interior of a home and the garden.

The low-profile design reflects this idea of transition and relaxation, offering flexible configurations that adapt to different living environments. Integrated side tables extend from the seating modules, echoing the architectural function of the engawa while providing additional usability.

Lira Dining Chair combines comfort and movement
The Lira Dining Chair was recognised for its sculptural form and ergonomic design. Developed to address the discomfort often associated with long periods of dining, the chair features a 360-degree flexible backrest that moves with the body.

Its solid wood sleigh-leg base, inspired by mid-century furniture, provides structural stability while maintaining a light and refined silhouette.

Hugg Coffee Table designed for multifunctional living
The Hugg Coffee Table Collection focuses on adaptability for contemporary urban homes. The design incorporates nested stools that slide beneath the table, allowing users to create additional seating or surface space when needed while keeping the overall form compact and visually clean.

The collection previously received a Good Design Award in Japan in 2025, recognising its practical approach to space-saving furniture design.

Design driven by everyday living
Castlery co-founder Declan Ee said the awards reinforce the company's design philosophy of prioritising real-life usability over purely aesthetic considerations.

"At Castlery, we've always believed that great design starts with the customer—not aesthetics for aesthetics' sake, but real solutions for real lives," Ee said.

Founded in Singapore, Castlery develops furniture collections designed to balance craftsmanship, versatility and accessibility, with the aim of creating products suited to a wide range of homes and lifestyles.

The iF Design Award recognition marks a significant step in the brand's ongoing international design journey, highlighting its growing influence within the global furniture and interiors market.
