Lighting brand Marset has unveiled Gambosa, a new table lamp designed by Mathias Hahn, continuing a collaboration that has spanned more than 16 years between the German-born, London-based designer and the Spanish lighting company.
Hahn is known for questioning traditional lighting typologies, a philosophy visible across his previous Marset designs such as Scantling and Theia. With Gambosa, he explores how a lamp can combine structural clarity with a more playful visual language.

The new design is defined by a dynamic interplay of geometric forms and colour, creating a lighting object that balances technical precision with expressive character. At the core of the concept is a system of interchangeable components and finishes, allowing the lamp to shift between bold, statement-making aesthetics and more understated compositions.
Through this modular approach, Gambosa can adapt to a variety of interior contexts, from residential environments to hospitality spaces, reflecting the growing demand for lighting that combines flexibility with a strong design identity.
For Hahn, design extends beyond functionality and becomes a broader cultural expression. "For me design is a cultural tool, a language, a form of expression," he explains. The process behind each project, he adds, is rooted in experimentation and perseverance: "Design is about taking decisions and getting there is simply hard work."

The long-standing partnership with Marset has played a significant role in shaping his approach to lighting design. According to Hahn, the collaboration is built on shared values around the emotional potential of light: "The connection of my work with Marset is related to a shared long-term passion for light and the mission to create poetry in our everyday lives."
With Gambosa, Marset continues to expand its catalogue of contemporary lighting designs that merge technical innovation with emotional and aesthetic storytelling, reinforcing the role of decorative lighting as a key element in today's interior environments.
