A Bremen based family company from Germany, EDZARD operates within the European interior market, offering silver plated products, stainless steel pieces, and decorative accessories designed to complement furniture, table settings, and interior concepts. Originally a specialist in sterling silver, the company has expanded into a lifestyle brand providing items that integrate into contemporary interiors and retail assortments.
The business is led by the third generation. Felix Edzard, CEO of EDZARD GmbH, continues to guide the company while maintaining its design philosophy.
'EDZARD was founded in Bremen in 1975 by my grandfather Friedrich Edzard as a specialist in sterling silver,' Felix explains. 'Over time we developed into a premium lifestyle brand for elegant home accessories, tableware and gifts, while always staying true to the idea that design should bring atmosphere to everyday life.' He adds, 'Our motto is "We create atmosphere", and that idea still guides the way we design our collections.'

Everyday elegance as a design principle
Across the interior sector, demand is rising for objects that combine decorative appeal with practical functionality. EDZARD develops products with this in mind, balancing aesthetic refinement with usability.
'Our design philosophy combines timeless elegance with everyday functionality,' Felix says. 'Beautiful design should not only look refined, it should also improve daily life in a practical way.' Materials are chosen to complement furniture and finishes. 'We work with premium materials such as mirror polished stainless steel, teak wood and sterling silver,' he explains. 'The aim is to create clear forms and enduring craftsmanship that bring shine and character into the home and interior spaces.'
Accessibility also informs the brand's approach. 'Many silver products are extremely exclusive and expensive,' he notes. 'Our approach is to create elegant, high quality pieces that people can actually enjoy every day, whether in private interiors or commercial spaces.'

Refining tradition within interior settings
At Ambiente, EDZARD presented a collection that develops its philosophy while introducing new functional elements for modern interiors.
'The newest collection shows how we refine our signature style while bringing in fresh elements,' Felix explains. 'Highlights include an expanded range of stainless steel étagères, new photo frames made in Italy with a wooden back, and our tealight candle Cornelius, which received an innovation award.' He adds, 'Compared with previous collections, the new pieces place an even stronger focus on practical elegance. They are designed to bring more atmosphere and refinement into everyday interior spaces.'
Supporting retailers and interior professionals
EDZARD products are often positioned alongside established brands in silver and stainless steel categories, helping retailers and designers create curated interior concepts combining accessible luxury with functional appeal.
'Our products are frequently presented next to brands such as Robbe & Berking or Christofle in silver, and alongside Alessi or Georg Jensen in stainless steel,' he explains. 'Our designs are more understated and positioned at an attractive price level, which makes the collection a valuable addition for retailers and interior professionals seeking complete solutions for interiors.' He adds, 'As a hanseatic family company, trust and reliability are essential for us. Retailers and interior professionals meet me personally at trade fairs such as Ambiente or Maison & Objet, and I remain directly available whenever support is needed.'

Innovation rooted in interior functionality
Looking ahead, EDZARD plans to develop products that combine decorative appeal with practical benefits for interiors.
'We see growing potential in pieces that combine refined design with clever functional details,' he says. 'Examples include rotating butter dishes that bring convenience and sophistication to the table.' The company is also expanding gift categories and functional accessories. 'We are placing more emphasis on men's gifts presented in premium packaging, such as shoehorns and elegant accessories,' he adds. 'At the same time, we are introducing practical items like aluminium dishwasher plates that help prevent silver cutlery from tarnishing.'
For Felix, the focus remains on creating pieces that enhance interiors while serving daily needs. 'Our aim is always to create products that combine atmosphere, quality and usability,' he concludes. 'When design makes everyday moments and interior spaces feel a little more special, that is when it truly matters.'
