The story of Goodwood 1927, formerly PrJSC "Ruskopolyansky Furniture Plant," begins in 1927, when a small group of entrepreneurs set up their first sawmill in the village of Ruska Polyana. Over the decades, the company expanded steadily, building workshops for woodworking, cooperage, and furniture production. By 1956, several local artels were united to form the "1 Travnya" artel, which focused on furniture manufacturing. In 1959, the artels were abolished and transformed into a state enterprise, establishing the Ruskopolyansky Furniture Plant. The plant specialized in tables and chairs, and by the 1980s, it underwent major reconstruction, modernizing production facilities, engineering networks, and employee amenities. Export production began in 1985, and in 1994, the company was reorganized into a joint-stock company. Today, Goodwood 1927 employs around 200 people and exports its furniture across the European Union and other global markets.

The name Goodwood 1927 reflects the brand's identity and heritage. It symbolizes the company's long-standing tradition of working with solid wood, its historical roots, and its commitment to preserving craftsmanship while embracing modern design. The brand's design language is unique because it blends Ukrainian history, culture, and tradition with contemporary global influences. The adoption of international woodworking trends and technical innovations has enabled Goodwood 1927 to offer furniture that is both timeless and modern, rooted in tradition but informed by technical progress.
Production safety
Operating in Ukraine comes with challenges, particularly due to geopolitical tensions and military aggression since 2014, which intensified in 2022. These circumstances have affected production safety, workforce quality, and the continuity of domestic and international operations. Despite these difficulties, the dedication, courage, and resilience of Ukrainian citizens, especially women in the workforce, have been instrumental in maintaining operations. Support from international partners and buyers has also been crucial, enabling the company to continue its activity and focus on future growth.
Goodwood 1927's strategy reflects these realities, emphasizing safety, workforce development, and international outreach. The company has resumed participation in major international fairs, such as the Poznań fair in 2026, marking its first global appearance since 2022. A key challenge abroad is overcoming misconceptions about Ukrainian design brands, as some foreign markets underestimate their scale, quality, and craftsmanship.
