Italian upholstered furniture group Poltronesofà has appointed Mike Schmidt as CEO of its UK division, following its acquisition of sofa retailer ScS in 2023.
Schmidt assumed the role on 9 March 2026, joining the company's executive leadership team as Poltronesofà continues to expand its presence in the UK market.

Since acquiring ScS, the group has been investing in a major store refurbishment programme across the retailer's network. The latest leadership appointment marks what the company describes as a pivotal stage in its UK development strategy.
In a statement, Poltronesofà said the business is entering "an exciting new era" following two years of investment and operational integration in the UK.
As part of the next phase of its expansion, new branding and signage will begin appearing across UK retail parks in the coming days, supported by a wider advertising campaign that launched earlier this year.
The appointment highlights Poltronesofà's continued commitment to strengthening its position in the UK upholstered furniture market while building on the long-standing presence of the ScS retail brand.
