The Salone del Mobile.Milano will introduce a new exhibition concept at its 64th edition (21–26 April 2026): Salone Raritas, a curated space dedicated to limited-edition design, unique objects, antiques and high-end craftsmanship.
Located in Pavilions 9–11 at Fiera Milano Rho, the initiative aims to create a direct connection between collectible design and the professional interiors market, including architects, interior designers, developers, hospitality operators and design dealers.

Curated by Annalisa Rosso, Editorial Director and Cultural Events Advisor of Salone del Mobile, and designed by the studio Formafantasma, the project seeks to bridge the gap between highly specialised creative production and the B2B design sector. The platform will bring together leading international galleries with professionals involved in major residential, hospitality and contract projects.
According to Maria Porro, President of Salone del Mobile.Milano, the initiative reflects the evolving role of collectible design within the interiors industry.
"Salone Raritas was born from an awareness of the evolution of the international market. There is a growing demand for rare and iconic pieces from architects, developers, brands and investors who see this type of design as a strategic asset in defining the identity of spaces," she said.
The exhibition design by Formafantasma has been conceived as a large architectural lantern, creating a porous and structured environment that highlights the individuality of each gallery while maintaining a coherent visual narrative. The space will feature a predefined palette of materials and colours to ensure both recognisability and flexibility for exhibitors.
The new initiative reflects a broader trend across the global furniture and interiors industry, where limited editions, collectible design and artisanal craftsmanship are increasingly used to differentiate high-end residential, hospitality and experiential retail projects.
By integrating collectible design directly into the Salone del Mobile ecosystem – which attracts over 300,000 visitors from more than 160 countries and more than 5,000 international journalists each year – Salone Raritas aims to expand the visibility and commercial potential of this niche but rapidly growing segment.
The organisers see the platform as an opportunity to connect galleries, designers and collectors with architects and developers, creating new opportunities for collaboration and positioning collectible design as a defining element in contemporary interior projects.
