The store, Le Klint, located at Oluf Bagers Plads, opened in 2022 but will shut as the company prioritises resources and adjusts its business strategy. The decision reflects broader economic uncertainty and global market pressures.
In a statement shared on LinkedIn, Le Klint emphasised that the closure does not mark a departure from the city. "But this is in no way a farewell to Odense. This is where we live, and where we have had our HQ and production since the beginning in 1943," said Kim Weckstrøm Jensen.
While the retail location will close, the company plans to maintain a presence in the city through its headquarters in northern Odense. Le Klint is exploring the possibility of opening its head office to visitors later this year to provide what it described as a "total experience" of the brand.
Customers on the island of Funen will also be referred to external retail partners.
The store will remain open until 30 June. A small number of employees will be affected by the closure.
