Italian bathroom brand antoniolupi will unveil the Skyline marble washbasin, designed by Antonio Iraci, during Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026. The freestanding washbasin translates architectural principles into a sculptural bathroom element inspired by the layered composition of urban skylines.

The design is built around a composition of staggered planes and intersecting surfaces, creating a three-dimensional structure defined by parallel and orthogonal lines. Through the interaction of solids and voids, the piece evokes the rhythm of metropolitan architecture, where built volumes alternate with open spaces, light and shadow.
Carved from natural marble, Skyline presents a strong yet essential presence. The design's sharp geometry creates what antoniolupi describes as an "origami of stone", giving the washbasin a sense of movement and depth despite its monolithic material.
Viewed from the front, the basin remains partially concealed by overlapping surfaces, deliberately obscuring its function at first glance. Narrow slits between the planes allow light to pass through, creating a subtle visual invitation to explore the object. As the observer moves around it, the washbasin gradually reveals its structure, with the basin suspended between two parallel surfaces.
The composition recalls architectural elements such as elevated walkways or bridges, where functional spaces are suspended between structural planes.
Skyline is produced using artisanal craftsmanship, with each washbasin carved from a single block of natural stone. As a result, variations in veining, colour and mineral inclusions make every piece unique, highlighting the authenticity of the material.
Key design features include:
- Architectural composition based on overlapping planes
- Suspended basin between parallel surfaces
- Polished interior with reflective finish
- Strong sculptural presence suitable for contemporary bathroom interiors
- Modular form designed to integrate with surrounding architectural space
With Skyline, antoniolupi continues its exploration of bathroom elements as architectural objects, transforming functional pieces into expressive design features within the interior environment.
