Oliver emphasises that sustainability has always been an important part of how the brand operates. 'From the very start, our brand has been sustainable. Most of our lamps are made from birch veneer sourced in Finland, and one tree can produce several hundred lamps. For every lamp we sell, we plant a new tree through our reforestation partners,' he explains.

This approach extends beyond materials to production and company culture. 'We produce everything locally, using European suppliers, and repurpose leftover materials wherever we can. We also use technologies such as 3D printing to optimise production and minimise waste, and we refurbish lamps that come back with minor issues and sell them in small batches. It is all about reducing waste and integrating sustainability into every part of our operations,' Oliver adds.

Partnerships also reflect this commitment. 'We work exclusively with European suppliers, which reduces our environmental footprint and ensures we know exactly where our materials come from. It is not just about the product, everyone involved understands the impact of their work,' he notes.

Defining success beyond numbers
While financial targets such as doubling turnover by 2026 are important, Oliver stresses that long-term success is measured by more than numbers. 'We are building a foundation for the future. Success means creating a company that can grow sustainably, while keeping the quality, design integrity, and service our customers expect,' he says.

Future growth will be strategically focused. TOM ROSSAU aims to strengthen its presence in established markets like Denmark and Germany while exploring opportunities in Sweden. 'We are concentrating on the markets we know, making sure our brand is accessible, visible, and relevant, rather than trying to stretch ourselves too thin,' Oliver explains.

Innovation is also central to the brand's vision. 'Every product is designed to enhance interiors with atmosphere and sculptural qualities. We will continue to innovate in materials, production techniques, and designs that respect our Danish design DNA, while meeting the sustainability expectations of today's customers,' he adds.
