Stockholm Design Week will return in February 2027 with a renewed vision aimed at making design more visible, accessible and inclusive. Under the theme "Design in all forms, for everyone," the event seeks to broaden its reach beyond industry professionals while strengthening Stockholm's role as a leading international design destination.

Organised across the Swedish capital, the week-long programme will bring together designers, companies, cultural institutions and the public, showcasing the diversity of Scandinavian design culture through exhibitions, events and collaborations throughout the city.

Here, design, innovation and sustainability come together in an ecosystem where design is not only about aesthetics, but about shaping how we live, work and build the cities of the future," said Caroline Strand, Deputy CEO of Stockholm Business Region.
The 2027 edition aims to expand participation across multiple creative sectors, with museums, restaurants, shops and cultural institutions joining traditional design venues to create a city-wide experience.
"Our aim is for Stockholm Design Week 2027 to bring together voices from across design disciplines, showcasing the full breadth of Swedish and Scandinavian design culture," said Annika Gehöör, Director of Stockholm Design Week and Stockholm Furniture Fair. "With an expanded range of participants, including museums, restaurants, shops, cultural institutions, and other creative actors, the week creates a platform where design is not only presented, but experienced."
To improve accessibility and navigation, the 2027 edition will introduce a new structure that organises participants into clearly defined design clusters across the city. This approach will make it easier for visitors to explore exhibitions, showrooms and installations while encouraging discovery within each district.
The event is also developing new strategic partnerships across different industries, with further collaborations expected to be announced in the coming months.
A central feature of the programme will remain the SDW Hub, located in the heart of Stockholm, serving as the main meeting point for visitors, designers and industry professionals. The official Stockholm Design Week app will also be enhanced to help visitors navigate the programme and connect with participating venues across the city.
Stockholm Design Week continues its tradition as an annual celebration of design held each February, attracting visitors from around the world and reinforcing the city's reputation as a dynamic centre for design, innovation and sustainability.
From 2027, the Stockholm Furniture Fair will transition to a biennial format, taking place every two years alongside the design week programme.
