The physical assets of US retailer Circle Furniture will be sold through a series of online auctions after the company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy earlier this year.
The Acton, Massachusetts-based business closed its nine stores across Massachusetts and New Hampshire in December 2025 after nearly 70 years of trading. The company filed for liquidation in February, reporting estimated assets of between $1m and $10m against liabilities ranging from $10m to $50m and listing between 200 and 999 creditors.

Gross sales were reported at $15.04m in 2025, down from $18.8m in 2024.
Boston-based auction firm Paul E. Saperstein Co. will manage the sale of the retailer's remaining physical assets through separate online auctions hosted on the Bidspotter platform. The auctions will run from 10 March to 29 April, with each store's inventory sold individually.
Items available include indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting, rugs, artwork, bedding, kitchen and dining items, pillows and decorative accessories. Public inspections will be held at each location the day before the respective auction.
Michael Saperstein, president of Paul E. Saperstein Co., said the process offers the community 'one last opportunity' to purchase items from the long-established family-owned retailer.
