Indorama Ventures will present its pathway towards lower-carbon PET solutions for tyre reinforcement at the Tire Technology Conference, taking place from 3–5 March 2026 in Hannover.
During the conference, Thomas Buss, Global R&D Lead for sustainable filament yarns at Indorama Ventures, will outline how the company is developing advanced materials for safety-critical tyre applications that combine virgin-like performance with significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

The presentation will highlight a portfolio of bio-based and recycled PET solutions designed for use in tyre cord fabrics and other reinforcement materials. According to the company, its bio-based reinforcement PET delivers a substantially lower product carbon footprint while maintaining the physical, mechanical and processing performance of conventional virgin PET. This enables a true drop-in solution for customers, with no compromise on durability, safety or performance.
Indorama Ventures' fully integrated and third-party certified supply chain supports traceability and reliable delivery across its product lines, ensuring transparency in the sourcing of lower-impact materials. Alongside bio-based solutions, the company is also investing in multiple recycling technologies to further reduce the environmental footprint of reinforcement materials.
"Indorama Ventures remains open to diverse technologies, selecting only those that meet our technical and sustainability criteria," said Thomas Buss. "In addition to our bio-based solutions, we are using multiple recycling technologies to advance our offerings to the market. Our new joint venture with Jiaren Chemical Recycling enables us to finally close the textile loop at scale."
The company's recycled PET yarns and fabrics derived from pre- and post-consumer textile feedstock are intended to expand its sustainable portfolio and support a more circular approach to tyre reinforcement materials.
Thomas Buss will present on 3 March at 13:45 CET in Room Casablanca at the conference venue, Deutsche Messe.
