Bretz Wohnträume GmbH introduces Tharuun, a new sofa collection that explores stillness, balance and archetypal form through a sculptural, tactile design language. Conceived by designer Pauline Junglas, Tharuun draws inspiration from monolithic river stones shaped by wind, water and time – rounded, enduring and calm in expression.

The collection is defined by gently curved contours and a clear, reduced silhouette. Solid yet never heavy in appearance, Tharuun brings together rectilinear and organic geometries to create a form that supports the body while allowing natural movement. The armrests convey a quiet tension: powerful and protective in their upper volume, tapering subtly towards the base to create visual lightness.
The seat is softly domed and supported by an internal structure designed to provide stability without hardness. A layer of viscoelastic foam delivers the brand's characteristic balance between yielding comfort and supportive firmness, creating a tactile equilibrium between form and feeling.
Modular calm
The principle of precise simplicity continues in Tharuun's modular system. Rectangular base elements can be combined in multiple configurations without disrupting the collection's serene visual identity. This modularity allows the sofa to adapt to different living spaces while preserving its sculptural presence.
Alongside the sofa system, the Tharuun armchair extends the design language into a compact, sculptural piece. Its softly rounded silhouette conveys stability and calm, offering a refined statement piece for both residential and contract interiors.

Contemporary textiles with heritage
The launch of Tharuun also introduces Zebravelours, a new upholstery developed in collaboration with an Italian textile manufacturer. The fabric reinterprets a Bretz classic from the 1990s, translating the iconic motif into a contemporary expression that sits between animal print and collage. The result is a textile that balances freedom of expression with graphic clarity, reinforcing the brand's expressive identity.
With Tharuun, Bretz presents a sofa collection that speaks to contemporary living through calm, tactile design, a quiet counterpoint to visual noise, rooted in material presence, sculptural clarity and enduring comfort.
