Cattelan Italia unveils curvy module for Craig sofa at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026

For Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, Cattelan Italia presents a new curvilinear module for its Craig sofa system, designed by Maurizio Manzoni. The addition broadens the compositional language of the collection, allowing for more fluid layouts that respond to contemporary, open-plan living.

The Craig sofa, known for its rounded, sinuous silhouettes, now evolves with a curved element that complements the existing linear and corner configurations. This new module enables the sofa to move away from the wall and be positioned centrally within the room, creating more dynamic and sociable seating arrangements.

The enveloping backrest, which integrates the cushions into a continuous, three-dimensional volume, curves further in the new configuration, helping to organise space and extend the sofa's architectural presence within the living area. By interrupting the symmetry of the linear modular system, the curved element increases design flexibility and encourages face-to-face interaction, supporting more convivial settings without compromising the system's modular logic.

A defining feature of the Craig system – the distinctive armrest – remains unchanged in the new configuration, preserving the sofa's recognisable identity. Even in its curved form, the armrest continues to structure the profile of the sofa, reinforcing a sense of enclosure and visual continuity.

Designed with open-plan interiors and fluid floor plans in mind, the new curved module allows the sofa itself to subtly define functional zones within a space, without the need for additional partitions. According to Cattelan Italia, the update represents a considered evolution of the Craig system, reflecting an approach focused on versatility, contemporary living patterns and dialogue with domestic architecture, rather than a purely stylistic variation.

The curvy module will be officially presented as part of Cattelan Italia's 2026 novelties at Salone del Mobile.Milano.
