Following the acquisition of Topline, Design Concept Denmark now operates a sofa and chair factory in Poland with around 250 employees, alongside a tabletop facility in Grenaa and a solid wood production unit in Poland. These three sites will now be offered for OEM manufacturing, producing for other furniture brands where capabilities, pricing, and volume align.
Morten Bertelsen Hertz, co-owner and commercial director, explained: "If you want responsible factory operations, it is about filling the factory and securing the best possible deals on wood, laminates, fabrics, upholstery, foam and other raw materials." He added that the focus is not on a fixed share of external production, but on finding the right match between the company's competencies and the client's requirements.
The group's capabilities cover a broad range: solid wood for tables, cabinets and shelves, laminated, linoleum and veneer table tops, and upholstered furniture including sofas and armchairs. The strategy reflects a wider trend in the Danish industry, with other producers such as Dencon and Hanstholm Køkken also opening factories to external clients to maximise utilisation and strengthen competitiveness.
