For the fifth consecutive year, Germany's kitchen sector is presenting a joint stand at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show. Despite challenges linked to US tariff policy, industry leaders say the American market offers significant medium-term growth potential.
Volker Irle of Arbeitsgemeinschaft Die Moderne Küche said kitchens "Made in Germany" are highly regarded by US interior designers for their innovation and quality. Jan Kurth of the Verband der Deutschen Möbelindustrie added that opportunities extend beyond private homes to the expanding contract and hospitality sectors. The United States is the industry's most important export market outside Europe.
Ten German exhibitors are participating, supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs. The programme also includes market visits, networking events and showroom tours to strengthen business links in North America.
Further trade missions to Chicago and New York are planned in May, alongside a separate German group presentation at Clerkenwell Design Week in London later that month.
