The Dutch platform Matlify has launched a new online shop that allows consumers to easily design fully customized doormats. With this introduction, the platform is going live simultaneously in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and France.

With its new shop, Matlify responds to the growing demand for home products that perfectly match both the space and the interior. "Instead of working with standard sizes, we focus entirely on customization", says Hermen Klasen of Matlify. "Customers determine the exact dimensions themselves, down to the millimeter, as well as the material, color, and edge finishing."

According to Hermen, every entrance is different and requires a tailored solution. "By putting customization at the core of our concept, we aim to offer an alternative to the traditional range of fixed-size doormats", he explains. "The online configurator makes it possible to create a mat step by step that fits the specific situation at the front door or entrance."

To simplify the decision-making process, Matlify offers free sample swatches. This allows customers to assess the color, texture, and quality of the material at home before placing a final order. It lowers the threshold for choosing custom work and supports a well-informed decision.
Customization Without Choice Overload
Although customization is often associated with endless options, Matlify deliberately keeps its assortment clear and manageable. "We want to make customization accessible without overwhelming people with too many choices. That's why we have opted for a balanced selection: enough options to always create a perfectly fitting mat, without causing decision fatigue", says Hermen.
