The new retail outlet, located at Pallion Retail Park, opened in December and spans nearly 9,000 sq ft. It showcases Dreams' full range of mattresses, bed frames, bases and pillows, and has created five new jobs. The company said the store reflects continued demand from customers who value the opportunity to test products in person before making a purchase.
Adjacent to the store, Dreams launched a new distribution centre on 4 February. Also measuring just under 9,000 sq ft, the facility will enhance regional stock capacity, improve product availability and help reduce delivery lead times for customers across the North East. Operating six days a week from Monday to Saturday, the site has created a further 11 roles and brings Dreams' total number of UK distribution centres to 13.
The Sunderland openings form part of a broader store and logistics expansion plan that began in late 2024 and will continue through 2026. CEO Jonathan Hirst said the investment supports the retailer's ambition to combine in-store expertise with faster, more reliable delivery, making it easier for customers to find the right products and receive them sooner.
