Paweł Wincentowicz from Ferroligni on transformation of the furniture Industry

'Delivery speed is becoming more important than price’

Speed throughout the supply chain of a manufacturer has become more than a logistical advantage. It is increasingly a marker of how well a business is structured, how clearly it understands its partners, and how confidently it can operate in a complex supply chain. For furniture manufacturers, this shift is prompting a fundamental rethink of production, stock, and collaboration models.

Paweł Wincentowicz, Business Development Director at Ferroligni, reflects on why delivery time now sits at the centre of strategic decision-making, and how speed, when handled carefully, can support quality rather than compromise it.

Why speed reshapes the B2B relationship
For Paweł, the link between short lead times and commercial performance became clear through direct observation. 'We noticed that our B2B customers who shortened their delivery time increased their sales,' he explains. 'It was almost equivalent, the shorter the delivery time, the bigger the sale.'

While furniture cannot move as quickly as small consumer goods, expectations have shifted. 'People are used to getting things really fast,' Paweł says. 'It's not as easy to deliver a table as quickly as a pen drive from Amazon, but people still expect it almost as fast.'

Although many of Ferroligni's partners are based in Poland, their furniture travels further. 'Our furniture is sold in many European countries' Paweł notes, making delivery speed a European concern rather than a local one.

Reducing risk for partners
Fast delivery is closely tied to how risk is distributed. Ferroligni's model avoids minimum order quantities, allowing partners to operate with minimal stock exposure. 'They receive an order, pass it to us, and they only buy what is already sold,' Paweł explains. 'There is absolutely no risk on their side.'

This challenges traditional bulk ordering. 'This is the advantage we can give to customers who are considering buying from China,' he says. 'They don't have to order 200 or 300 pieces in one colour and wait.'

Many partners never handle the product directly. 'A lot of our customers never touch our tables,' Paweł adds. 'They just send us labels, we put them on the boxes, and that's it.'

Speed without cutting corners
Moving quickly only works if quality remains intact. Paweł is clear that speed and shortcuts are not the same thing. 'When you pack the table, you don't have to worry about the quality of delivery,' he says. 'You have to be sure the customer gets the table in one piece, not in a hundred pieces.'

Packaging plays a critical role, supported by constant internal feedback loops. 'Every week we meet with sales and production and analyse the complaints rate,' Paweł explains. 'We have a percentage that we never cross. If something repeats, we solve it within days.' This tight coordination allows problems to be addressed quickly. 'That's how we manage to keep a really low claims rate,' he notes.

Controlling the production chain
At the heart of Ferroligni's speed is its decision to bring processes in-house. By investing in CNCs and internal production, the company reduced its dependence on external partners. 'Before, we outsourced cutting tabletops,' he recalls. 'It was convenient, but we didn't control the whole production chain.'

Today, everything is produced from raw materials. 'We start from a raw piece of steel that has to be cut on laser, welded, polished and painted,' Paweł says. 'Within five days, it's ready to be sent to the client.'

Why speed wins now
The cultural shift behind this demand is familiar beyond interiors. 'You can watch a whole series on Netflix at once,' Paweł says. 'People don't like to wait anymore, even a week feels long.'

For manufacturers, speed has become a signal rather than just a service. 'Speed shows that the company is working in a proper way,' Paweł concludes. 'That all processes are in order, professional people coordinate everything, and the company is reliable and knows what it's doing.' In an industry balancing craftsmanship, logistics and trust, that signal may prove increasingly decisive.

Ferroligni's commitment to combining speed with quality and reliability will be on full display at Meble Polska, where the company will welcome visitors in Hall 3A, stand 25. This presence offers an opportunity for partners and industry professionals alike to explore firsthand how streamlined production and agile logistics are shaping the future of interiors.
