Kincaid Upholstery sold to KMC Furniture, La-Z-Boy Inc. has completed the sale of Kincaid Upholstery to KMC Furniture LLC, effective 30 January 2026. The Taylorsville, North Carolina facility, which employs 97 people, will continue operations under the new owner.

The transaction supports La-Z-Boy's strategy to focus on its core branded retail business while streamlining non-core case goods. All existing Kincaid employees have been offered positions with KMC Furniture.
KMC Furniture plans to establish its headquarters at the Taylorsville facility, investing approximately $2.6 million in capital improvements and creating an estimated five to seven new jobs. The move reinforces the company's commitment to maintaining and strengthening operations in Alexander County.
Max Dyer, president and CEO of KMC Furniture, praised local officials for facilitating the acquisition and highlighted the opportunity to grow the business. The sale aligns with La-Z-Boy's broader strategy of focusing on vertical integration, branded retail, and long-term profitable growth.
