Designed by Spaces and Design, under Principal Architect Pooja Bihani, Sangha Bhawan is an 18,000 sq ft centre for Jain community life that blends spiritual identity with modern design. Commissioned by the Acharya Mahapragya Mahashraman Education & Research Foundation (AMMERF), the building embodies the Jain principles of non-violence, simplicity, and knowledge, transforming functional spaces into poetic architectural experiences.

The journey through Sangha Bhawan begins at the serene reception and lobby, where gentle curvatures and sculpted volumes evoke sanctity without grandeur. The banquet hall continues this ethos, using warm, earthy materials and clustered lighting inspired by meditative beads, creating an atmosphere of calm and reflection.
At its heart lies the art-filled restaurant, a space that merges culinary function with cultural storytelling. Fluted wooden panels, mural portraits of classical Indian maestros, and floating calligraphic motifs transform dining into an immersive experience, bridging tradition and contemporary sensory delight.
Ascending to the sunlit cafeteria, visitors encounter a space inspired by temple architecture yet designed for modern gathering. Arched colonnades, natural light, and contemporary chandeliers encourage reflection, dialogue, and community interaction, reinforcing the building's role as both a spiritual and social hub.

Throughout Sangha Bhawan, tradition is reinterpreted through modernity: ornamentation is distilled to its essence, materials are thoughtfully selected for warmth and sustainability, and each space tells a story of heritage, continuity, and collective identity. The project demonstrates how architecture can serve as a bridge between cultural values and contemporary life, fostering environments that radiate peace, harmony, and community.
