Renowned designer and interior architect Francesc Rifé has been appointed to design the new AMC Kitchen Lab for Espacio Cocina SICI 2026, introducing a fluid, translucent architectural concept that redefines how kitchens are presented within a trade fair environment.

Set to take place from 28 September to 1 October 2026 at Feria Valencia, Espacio Cocina SICI has already confirmed strong momentum, with over 50% of exhibition space reserved. The event will once again run alongside Feria Hábitat València, Textilhogar, and the new 360 by Cevisama initiative, positioning Valencia as a major international hub for the habitat sector.
Rifé's concept for the AMC Kitchen Lab is rooted in the idea of the kitchen as a social threshold, a place for meeting, exchange and shared experience. Rather than presenting the kitchen as a static object, the design treats it as a spatial system capable of opening, concealing and transforming according to use. The result is an environment that shifts seamlessly between exhibition, conference and showcooking functions.
The architecture is defined by translucent surfaces that act as filters rather than transparent boundaries, softening light and allowing activity to be perceived without being fully revealed. This lightweight, modular structure creates a unified visual identity at pavilion level, while still allowing participating brands to maintain their individual character.

The AMC Kitchen Lab will be divided into two distinct areas. The Exhibition Kitchen Lab will feature kitchen environments of 40, 65 or 90 square metres, developed by national and international kitchen brands in collaboration with interior designers. Complementing this, the Kitchen Lab Experience will host two fully equipped 90-square-metre showcooking spaces, set to become one of the fair's most dynamic content hubs.
With this project, Espacio Cocina SICI reinforces its commitment to innovation, positioning the kitchen as a flexible, contemporary space that reflects evolving ways of living and interaction.
