Ikea U.S. has announced plans to open a new plan and order point with pick-up in Pleasanton, California, set to launch in Summer 2026. This new location, part of Ikea's ongoing growth strategy, will allow customers to meet with Ikea staff to plan and order home furnishing solutions that may require design support, including kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms.

Shoppers can choose to have their orders delivered or pick them up at a scheduled time, though same-day pickup will not be available. The Pleasanton location, covering approximately 2,100 square feet in the Pleasanton Square Shopping Center, is intended to bring the Ikea experience closer to more residents of the Tri-Valley area while maintaining access to Ikea Emeryville for other offerings such as food.
Ikea U.S. has also been enhancing its e-commerce platform, introducing benefits for Ikea Family members, lower shipping and delivery costs, Click & Collect, and TaskRabbit assembly services to improve convenience and accessibility for customers.
