Founded in 1998 by designer Paolo Zani, Warli is an Italian design company renowned for its contemporary rugs rooted in rigorous handcrafting techniques drawn from countries with ancient textile traditions. Over time, this expertise has expanded beyond textiles to include furnishing accessories and lighting, all developed in the brand's Milan-based "laboratory of ideas".

Islas coffee tables and Tatami outdoor rug, designed by Paolo Zani – Warli.
Today, Warli's collections span indoor and outdoor furnishings, accessories and lighting, united by a coherent design language defined by simplicity, harmony and material integrity. Each product reflects the brand's core values: high-quality materials, meticulous craftsmanship and a strong commitment to sustainability. Warli addresses a design-conscious audience seeking products that combine aesthetic value, durability, adaptability, customisation and environmental responsibility.
Natural yarns play a central role in Warli's research. Alongside traditional fibres such as wool, linen and silk, the company uses innovative materials including bamboo silk, banana silk and Tencel, derived from regenerated cellulose from eucalyptus and beech wood. For outdoor collections, Warli employs recyclable synthetic yarns that replicate the look and feel of natural fibres while ensuring durability and UV resistance.
Sustainability is integral across the entire production cycle, from design to disposal. Warli incorporates low-impact materials such as Econyl®, Raytent® acrylic, recycled PET and aluminium, reducing energy consumption and extending product life cycles.
Among the brand's recent releases is the Islas coffee table collection (designed by Paolo Zani, 2023), an outdoor set of three tables made from 100% recycled aluminium sourced from cans, bicycles and boat components. Cast in clay moulds, each piece retains subtle surface irregularities that highlight its recycled origin.

Tatami outdoor rug, designed by Paolo Zani – Warli.
The Tatami outdoor rug from the Plein Sud collection draws inspiration from traditional Japanese interiors, featuring a refined, minimalist weave made from weather-resistant polypropylene yarns, suitable for outdoor use and available in custom sizes.
Lighting additions include the Scilla lamp (2025), a portable indoor-outdoor lantern crafted from hand-engraved satin-finish blown glass with stainless steel details, and the Barona table lamp (2023), an industrial-inspired design made entirely from recycled aluminium.
Through continuous material research and thoughtful design, Warli remains true to its identity as a brand of "design weavers", creating objects that combine visual poetry, functionality and responsible innovation.
