Presented at imm Cologne 2026, Rattan Sedia's Kewan collection introduces a new approach to outdoor furniture design. Founded in 2007, the company has developed into a supplier of outdoor furniture, pergolas, WPC decking, and related products for hospitality and private settings. With over 100 employees and showrooms across the Balkans, Rattan Sedia serves markets including Germany, Italy, Austria, and Scandinavia. Sales Director Nermin Terzic outlines how the Kewan Collection combines design and construction techniques to meet the requirements of contemporary outdoor environments.

New assembly methods
The Kewan collection uses specially developed aluminium cast joints instead of welding for assembly. Nermin explains, 'This approach eliminates visible joints and emphasises the purity of form, elevating both aesthetics and construction to a higher level.' The collection is characterised by clean lines, simple shapes, and an integrated architectural presence where structure, seating, and weaving form a cohesive whole.
The collection also introduces new weaving colours and focuses on durability and subtle visual impact. 'The name Kewan represents identity, strength, and continuity. It is a return to roots shaped through contemporary design and technical mastery,' says Nermin.
For the purposes of this article, three pieces of the collection, the Lino table, Nara seating set, and Avena modular seating set, will be described in more detail below.

Avena Modular
The Avena Modular seating set is the initial model in the Kewan Collection and reflects its design principles. It is constructed around a single aluminium profile that forms the main structural element, resulting in a clear architectural expression without visual clutter. The modular system allows for flexible configurations including armrests, armchairs, and lounge elements.
A specialised backrest removal system enables precise positioning of components to maintain visual balance. 'Avena balances comfort through cushions and woven panels, creating a refined contrast between technical precision and relaxed lounge aesthetics,' Nermin explains. Avena is designed for terraces, boutique hotels, and private villas where durability and aesthetic consistency are important.

Nara Seating set
The Nara seating set includes an armchair and two-seater with a focus on clear form and proportion. Using angular profiles typical of the Kewan Collection, Nara offers a stable and durable structure. 'The balance between solid structure and soft cushions ensures comfort without compromising design clarity,' notes Nermin.
Woven back cushions add texture and warmth, while the minimalist design allows Nara to fit various outdoor environments requiring lasting quality and appearance.

Lino Table
The Lino table features defined lines and balanced proportions, with a structure made from angular profiles that ensure stability and architectural clarity. The tabletop is integrated within the frame, creating a unified silhouette without visual interruption.
'Lino is conceived as a timeless piece for contemporary outdoor spaces where simplicity, functionality, and lasting aesthetic value are essential,' says Nermin.
Rattan Sedia's Kewan Collection offers a practical and refined solution for outdoor spaces, balancing form, function, and material quality. By focusing on adaptable design and reliable construction, the company continues to strengthen its position within competitive European markets while addressing the specific demands of its trade partners.
