Ugnius Vygėlis highlights Qualita’s commitment to customised product offerings

‘We can also manufacture a wide selection of products to a partner’s specification and branding'

Following the January Furniture Show, Qualita reflected on its core strengths: solid wood craftsmanship, made-to-order manufacturing, and collaboration with retail partners. With its production base in Lithuania and wholesale operation in the UK, the company focuses on flexibility, consistency and design-led product development tailored to the trade.

Sales Manager Ugnius Vygėlis explains that buyers are increasingly looking for meaningful differentiation. 'They want ranges that can be tailored to brand identity, customer needs and the realities of today's supply chain,' he says, emphasising the importance of customisation in the current market.

Qualita operates as a group of companies, with Qualita Ltd. handling UK wholesale and Medienos Era managing manufacturing in Lithuania. 'The business was started in 2003,' Ugnius notes. This integrated structure allows the company to move quickly from concept to finished product, while maintaining close contact with retailers to meet their day-to-day requirements.

Meeting challenges with efficiencies
The company faced several challenges over the past year, including cost inflation, supply chain complexity and operational disruptions. In response, Qualita has streamlined processes, reinforced production capacity and improved workflow efficiency. These changes aim to provide customers with better responsiveness and reliability as the company moves into 2026.

At the January Furniture Show, Qualita showcased its best-selling made-to-order dining tables. These tables, crafted from solid wood, stand out for their character and the high degree of customisation they offer. 'The tables are from solid wood and unique in a way that they are possible to customise according to your preferences,' Ugnius explains. This flexibility appeals to retailers seeking to offer multiple sizes, finishes and options without carrying excessive stock.

Broadening product offerings for trade
In addition to dining furniture, Qualita highlighted its expanding upholstery range under a licensed partnership with designer Abigail Ahern. The collection now includes two new sofa designs, complementing the established occasional table selection. The company also presented made-to-order chairs upholstered in Aqua Clean fabrics, providing a performance-led option for a complete dining collection.

Qualita's wholesale offering revolves around core collections designed to be straightforward for trade customers. These include the made-to-order dining tables, the Qualita Cottage collection and Centrepiece occasional furniture. The Cottage range, stocked in the UK, features bedroom, dining and living pieces that blend solid wood and painted finishes with considered decorative details, offering broad appeal across different retail environments.

'We supply our core collections to trade customers at wholesale pricing for resale,' Ugnius states. The Centrepiece range continues to grow, with new occasional tables introduced around the show period to refresh the offering.

Tailored manufacturing and partnerships
A major capability that sets Qualita apart is its white-label manufacturing. 'We can also manufacture a wide selection of products to a partner's specification and branding, including customised dimensions, finishes, and private packaging or labels where required,' Ugnius explains. This service is supported by the factory's investment in multiple CNC machines, enabling efficient, scalable production that meets both repeatable bestseller demands and more bespoke requirements.

This technical capacity and flexibility have made Qualita a trusted manufacturing partner for major retailers, including John Lewis, Heal's and Next. The company emphasises that successful partnerships require collaboration and alignment on product details. 'The most successful partnerships are built when both sides treat product as a shared project — aligning on finish, dimensions, brand cues, packaging needs and timelines,' Ugnius concludes.

With a solid wood heritage, growing design portfolio and enhanced operational capabilities, Qualita aims to offer trade customers a reliable, flexible supplier relationship as they progress through 2026.
