ICFF 2026 sets the stage for a new chapter in contemporary design

ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair), North America's leading platform for contemporary design, returns to New York's Javits Center from May 17–19, 2026, during NYCxDESIGN, with a renewed vision focused on collaboration, global exchange, and shared values across the design industry.

Guided by the 2026 theme, "Common Ground: A Global Dialogue on Design and Shared Values," ICFF positions design as a powerful connector, bringing together diverse cultures, disciplines, and perspectives to explore how shared principles can shape more sustainable, inclusive, and human-centered environments.

Global collaboration and new partnerships
Central to ICFF's evolution is a strengthened commitment to international collaboration through partnerships with national and global curators, media platforms, and cultural institutions. These initiatives reinforce ICFF's role not only as a marketplace, but as a forum for dialogue and discovery.

A key highlight for 2026 is ICFF's first-ever partnership with Habitat for Humanity New York City and Westchester, supporting equitable housing initiatives. A portion of registration proceeds will benefit Habitat's mission, alongside material and in-kind contributions from the design community, extending ICFF's impact beyond the show floor.

Additional collaborations include a partnership with Mayfair Design District, bringing a London perspective to ICFF's Bespoke programming, and expanded curatorial leadership with Julia Haney Montanez (The Design Release) as Look Book Program Curator and Adrian Madlener as Talks Program Consultant.

Programming and areas of focus
ICFF 2026 will spotlight material responsibility, innovation, and interdisciplinary dialogue. Highlights include an upcoming exhibition led by Jonsara Ruth, Design Director of the Healthy Materials Lab at Parsons School of Design, and expanded lighting-focused programming within the Juniper Recharge Lounge.

The talks program will address timely topics such as healthy materials, affordable housing, cross-cultural collaboration, and the future of design media, featuring voices from STIRworld, Dwell, The New York Times, Untapped Journal, and more. Amy Devers returns to host the Emerging Designer Spotlight.

Expanded emerging designer spotlight
ICFF introduces an expanded, year-long Emerging Designer Spotlight, developed with Clever and Amy Devers. The initiative includes a monthly editorial series highlighting international emerging designers, culminating in a live Mainstage presentation at ICFF 2026.
