Homeware sales on the high street rose for a second straight week, according to the latest BDO High Street Sales Tracker. Total like-for-like (LFL) homeware sales increased by 11.40% for the week ending 18 January 2026, up from 0.27% the previous week.

In contrast, store-based homeware sales fell by 2.15%, marking the fifth consecutive positive week for the category overall. Total store LFL sales grew by 2.00% year-on-year, while total non-store LFL sales declined by 2.83%.
BDO highlighted that weather conditions were mostly mild, unsettled, and windy, with frequent showers, compared to a colder, occasionally frosty week last year. Overall footfall fell by 1.8% compared to the same period in 2025, with high streets dropping 3.6%, shopping centres declining 1.3%, and retail parks rising 1.7%.
The data suggests that despite weaker footfall, homeware remains a resilient category, supported by continued consumer demand and online sales.
