Czech furniture manufacturer LD Seating has completed the furnishing of a newly designed boardroom inside the State Printing Works of Securities in Prague. Housed in a former photographic studio within a historic city-centre building, the boardroom is part of a broader renovation by JKH Architects, which blends contemporary design, advanced technologies, and sustainability while honouring the institution's near-century-long history.

The boardroom accommodates up to 18 people and centres on a large oval table, around which seating was carefully selected to meet rigorous standards of ergonomics, comfort, and long-term durability.

For the project, Melody Meeting conference armchairs designed by Orlandini Design were chosen. The chairs feature elegantly upholstered seats and backrests, fixed armrests for support, and exceptional comfort even during long meetings. Their refined silhouette complements the modern aesthetic of the boardroom while harmonising with the historic architecture.
The boardroom design references the building's legacy while incorporating contemporary elements. The oval table, supported by a solid steel base, echoes the form of printing rollers historically used in securities production. A central oak panel nods to the visual language of banknote security features, and a textile acoustic wall with printed motifs inspired by the building's façade completes the space.
Sustainability and local craftsmanship were key priorities. LD Seating produces its furniture in Boskovice, Czech Republic, using durable materials and responsible manufacturing practices, aligning with the institution's focus on reliability and long-term stability.
