Polish creativity debuts at Collect 2026 ‘Metamorphosis: Craft from Poland’

Polish craft and innovation take center stage at Collect 2026 with Metamorphosis: Craft from Poland, a curated presentation of nine Polish artists showcasing the country's dynamic design and craft culture. The exhibition highlights how contemporary Polish makers are redefining material exploration while challenging preconceptions about the nation's creative output.

The exhibition spans ceramics, glass, wood, paper, and metal, featuring works by Alicja Patanowska, Monika Patuszyńska, GRÔPK-Marcin Kuberna, Anna Bera, Maciej Gąsienica Giewont, Marcin Rusak Studio, Katarzyna Krej, Agata Marchlewicz, and Formsophy. From delicate glass installations to resin and liquid-aluminium works, and bold paper cutouts to innovative ceramic explorations, the show demonstrates a fusion of heritage craftsmanship and experimental thinking.

Curated by journalist and broadcaster Corinne Julius and designed by London-based architects Miśka Miller-Lovegrove and Roman Lovegrove (MM-L Studio), Metamorphosis presents Polish creativity through a lens of conceptual depth and material intelligence. The project is hosted by the Creative Industries Institute (Poland) and presented in partnership with the Polish Cultural Institute and On&On Designs.

"Poland has experienced remarkable growth in its creative industries, blending centuries of skilled craftsmanship with contemporary experimentation," says the curatorial team. "This exhibition captures the energy and innovation driving today's Polish makers and designers."

Following the success of the UK/Poland Season 2025, Metamorphosis continues to highlight the country's influence on international craft and design, positioning Poland as a vibrant, forward-looking creative hub.
