Triton Showers wins landmark appeal against Kohler Mira

Triton Showers has successfully won an appeal against Kohler Mira in a long-running patent dispute over its DuElec electric shower range. The case originally went against Triton in 2024, when Kohler Mira argued that the DuElec showers infringed on its patent for a dual outlet electric shower. At that time, the court ruled in Mira's favour, but Triton maintained that its products did not violate any intellectual property rights.

On December 22, 2025, the Court of Appeal overturned the earlier decision, rejecting both the validity of the patent and the claim of infringement. As a result, Triton is now free to continue selling its DuElec range in the UK and Ireland. Triton's managing director, Phil Viner, expressed satisfaction with the ruling, thanking the legal team and customers for their support, while emphasising the company's plans to continue optimising the shower range. Nicholas Briggs, head of intellectual property at the law firm representing Triton, called the judgment "fully justified," reflecting the company's persistence in pursuing the appeal.

Kohler Mira, while expressing disappointment over the reversal, affirmed its commitment to protecting its intellectual property and maintaining investments in research and development in the UK. Triton's DuElec showers, which have been on the market since May 2022, will remain available following this ruling, marking a significant win for the company in a competitive sector.
