The awards recognised businesses and individuals making meaningful contributions to sustainable working practices, ESG reporting, and workforce development across the furniture industry. Entry to all categories was free, and BFA members were able to submit applications across multiple awards via a short online form available on the BFA website.
BFA managing director Phil Spademan said:
"The Future of Furniture Awards are part of BFA's ongoing commitment to advocating for education and training across the industry, as well as advancing into a more sustainable future for all.
"The awards are a key opportunity members to highlight the work they are doing and demonstrate how the industry is making meaningful changes to help empower people and protect the environment.
"We've extended the deadline to January 30th to ensure that all BFA members have a chance to step into the spotlight.
"Entering the Future of Furniture Awards is a simple way to show customers and stakeholders that what they do is already embedded in how they work.
"Judged by independent experts, a short entry turns day to day environmental or training work into credible, third party evidence of commitment."
The Future of Excellence in Education Award focused on organisations providing rewarding working and learning environments, including initiatives supporting staff development and partnerships with colleges and schools to attract new talent into the sector.
Criteria for the Future of Excellence in Sustainability Award included evidence of continuous improvement, long-term sustainability ambitions, employee engagement, and communication of sustainable practices to both staff and customers.

The Future of Excellence in ESG Reporting Award required balanced reporting across environmental, social, and governance criteria, supported by clear timelines, best-practice assessments, and future planning.
An individual award, BFA Future of Excellence – Sustainability Champion, recognised a professional within a BFA member company demonstrating leadership, passion for sustainability, and measurable outcomes despite challenges.
Winners were due to be announced at a dedicated reception during the BFA Furniture Component Expo, held at Telford International Centre on 11 and 12 March.
