Stan Green reflected on the closure of the company, Denis Green, noting that while business was easier in earlier decades, rising overheads and increasing government regulations have made it harder for small businesses to operate. He also expressed gratitude for the loyalty of the company's customer base over the years.
This closure highlights the challenges facing long-standing independent retailers in the current market environment, particularly in sectors like flooring and home furnishings, where operational costs and regulatory pressures are steadily increasing.
