A UK construction and façade specialist has placed its Facade and Construction divisions into administration, resulting in the loss of 40 jobs. The collapse reflects sustained pressures across the construction sector, including inflation, delayed approvals under the Building Safety Act, constrained insurance markets and historical claims linked to ISG's past administrations.

Headquartered near Manchester, FK Group operates as a full building envelope contractor, supplying roofing, cladding, glazing and maintenance services across commercial and residential projects. The administrations have disrupted two major schemes nearing completion at Elephant and Castle in London and Manchester City Stadium.
Despite the setback, the group's Premo manufacturing arm and FK branch remain solvent and will continue trading. The business will now operate on a reduced scale, with a sharper focus on façade design, manufacturing and remediation services, supported by a narrower, project-led client base.
FK Group's most recent accounts showed turnover of around £100 million last year, falling sharply to £40 million this year. For contractors, manufacturers and interiors suppliers, the case highlights the growing financial strain created by regulatory delays and risk exposure in the UK construction market.
