Interior design in 2026 is set to move towards spaces that feel warmer, more personal, and quietly elegant, according to insights shared by Westwing founder Delia Lachance. Four key trends are shaping this shift.

Colour palettes are becoming richer and more grounded, with terracotta, caramel and ochre creating inviting interiors, while softer accents such as blush or Bordeaux introduce a contemporary edge. Alongside this, there is a renewed emphasis on craft and authenticity. Handmade elements, natural materials and visible imperfections are valued for the sense of character and individuality they bring to a space.
Form is also evolving. Organic, sculptural shapes with flowing lines and gentle curves are replacing rigid silhouettes, giving interiors a calmer, more natural feel. Furniture and decorative pieces are increasingly described as "grown rather than made".
Finally, reflective surfaces are being used with restraint. Mirrors, polished metals and soft glass are employed to enhance light and depth, adding brightness without overwhelming the overall design. Together, these trends highlight a move towards interiors that balance comfort, craftsmanship and modern refinement.
