East Jutland furniture manufacturer Skovby Møbelfabrik has returned to operating profitability after two years of losses, though its overall result for 2024/25 remains negative. The company increased its operating profit from a loss of DKK 3.4 million to a profit of DKK 5.3 million, an improvement of nearly DKK 9 million. However, after tax, the firm still posted a loss of approximately DKK 860,000, leading management to describe the accounts as "unsatisfactory."

CEO and co-owner Preben Rasmussen attributed the deficit to strategic investments in exports and Danish production, including growth in Germany through closer customer engagement. The company employs 166 staff across its Skovby and Galten facilities and continues to prioritise domestic manufacturing.
Rasmussen highlighted the company's skilled workforce, ranging from long-serving employees to apprentices, as fundamental to ongoing development. He expects the investments to yield full returns in 2025/26, projecting a profit after tax of around DKK 6 million through export growth, an expanded product portfolio, and efficiency improvements in production.
Founded in 1933, Skovby Møbelfabrik remains family-owned under the third generation of the Rasmussen family and supplies major furniture chains, including Ilva. The company maintains solid equity of DKK 90.8 million despite the current deficit.
