Franck Genser unveiled sculptural lighting and furniture

At Maison&Objet In the City 2026, Paris-based designer Franck Genser presented a series of new creations that continue his dialogue between material, light, and form. From alabaster lighting inspired by Japanese rain chains to sculptural tables carved from naturally eroded stone, each piece reflects a pursuit of timeless expression rooted in craftsmanship and poetic restraint.

The Cascade Éventail and Cascade Finie 190 wall and floor luminaires explore rhythm, translucency, and scale through softly glowing alabaster cones. Moon, a backlit alabaster half-sphere, interprets the lunar phases, allowing users to adjust intensity and shape, from crescent to full moon.

Seating pieces such as the Scarf sofa, armchair, and chaise-longue combine fluid curves with architectural clarity. Oak structures, memory foam cushions, and customizable upholstery create a sense of protection and repose, making each piece both sculptural and inviting.

The Brutaliste Tables, carved from granite or white marble, retain the stone's natural irregularities while juxtaposing mineral strength with warm oak legs. Each table is unique, shaped by the natural contours and veining of its block.

Franck Genser's work, grounded in engineering, Gestalt principles, and material exploration, seeks to merge emotional resonance with functional precision. His Paris workshop transforms noble materials (alabaster, walnut, marble, and Japanese lacquer) into objects that are both contemporary heirlooms and sculptural presences.
