Contardi Lighting presents the renewed Muse Outdoor collection, unveiled in an intimate setting at Tristan Auer's Paris apartment. Originally designed by Auer in 2012 for the Cartier stand at the Biennale des Antiquaires, Muse is rooted in the archetype of the lantern, an object rich in cultural references, from traditional Chinese lanterns and Parisian streetlights to Moroccan craftsmanship. This layered inspiration reflects Auer's eclectic design language, resulting in a versatile collection that moves effortlessly between indoor and outdoor environments.

With Muse Outdoor, Tristan Auer's refined aesthetic meets Contardi Lighting's archi-decorative approach, creating a synthesis of formal elegance and advanced lighting technology. The collection's contemporary lines reinterpret a historical object, transforming it into a timeless design that adapts to a wide range of architectural contexts while placing light at the centre of the experience.
The renewal of Muse is part of a broader initiative marking Contardi Lighting's 20th anniversary in 2026. On this occasion, the brand has undertaken a thoughtful update of its catalogue, revisiting some of its most iconic collections to align them with current technologies and performance standards. As Massimo Brigandì, General Manager of Contardi Lighting, explains, the new Muse pays homage to its origins while offering a forward-looking vision through the integration of innovative solutions.

The 2026 update introduces new finishes, dimensions and enhanced light performance across both versions of the collection: Muse wired and Muse Nomad. Both are now available in four finishes, black, bronze, terracotta and an elegant cream tone, reinforcing the collection's decorative versatility. The metal structure's light, graceful presence is complemented by a woven leather handle, allowing the lamp to be easily moved and positioned on the ground, a table, by the pool or even on a boat deck.
In the wired version, available in medium and large sizes, the light source is positioned at the base and diffused through a newly designed ribbed glass element. This detail creates a subtle play of lines while ensuring optimal illumination. The wireless Muse Nomad emits light from the top through an amber-tinted plexiglass diffuser, producing a soft, atmospheric glow. Offered also in a small rechargeable version, it combines maximum flexibility with understated elegance.
Engineered to meet the highest market standards, Muse features carefully selected materials and advanced technologies, including an IP65 rating for water resistance and cataphoresis treatment to protect metal components from corrosion. With this evolution, Muse continues to embody Contardi Lighting's vision of decorative design where aesthetics and performance come together, celebrating two decades of innovation through light.
