Italian design brand Seletti has unveiled BIC© Lamp, a playful lighting collection created in collaboration with BIC© to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the iconic BIC© Cristal ballpoint pen. The collection is presented for the first time at Maison&Objet 2026 (15–19 January, Hall 3, booth G31).

Designed by Mario Paroli, BIC© Lamp transforms one of the world's most recognisable everyday objects into a large-scale design statement. Faithfully reproducing the unmistakable shape of the BIC© Cristal pen, the lamp is enlarged to a 12:1 scale and is available in the pen's three classic colours, black, blue and red, as a floor lamp, pendant light and wall light.
Staying true to Seletti's signature pop and conceptual approach, the project elevates a familiar, utilitarian object into a bold lighting feature. The lamp uses materials that echo the original pen's design while ensuring high-performance LED lighting, blending visual nostalgia with contemporary functionality.

Since its creation in 1950, the BIC© Cristal pen has become a universal design icon, with more than 120 billion units sold worldwide and a place in the permanent collections of institutions such as MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Seletti's reinterpretation pays tribute to this legacy while offering the object a new role within the home.
