Luxury Danish brand Bang & Olufsen remains unprofitable, reporting a DKK 90 million loss in the first half of the 2025/26 financial year. Revenue declined by 27 million kroner to 576 million, partly due to the timing of two new product launches. Acting CEO Nikolaj Wendelboe anticipates revenue growth in the second half of the year with the opening of new stores in Paris and San Francisco.

The company recently saw the departure of CEO Kristian Teär, who led since 2019 and targeted ultra-high-end customers willing to pay over half a million kroner for bespoke speakers. While this strategy yielded a small operating profit of 16 million kroner last year, it has not achieved sustained profitability.
Bang & Olufsen celebrated its 100th anniversary in November 2025, incurring one-time costs of 38 million kroner for an exclusive event at the Copenhagen Opera House attended by 250 guests. Despite its century-long legacy in innovative design and high-end sound technology, the company continues to struggle to restore consistent financial stability.
